Rebecca Brown-Thompson has been a botanical illustrator for over 30 years, primarily concentrating on the world’s rare and endangered plants. Rebecca grew up in Indiana, where she studied horticulture and art at Purdue University (and earning her Bachelor of Science degree in horticulture), and studied Cartography at the University of Hawaii.
Currently, Rebecca spends her summer months in the Pacific Northwest and New Zealand, illustrating the endemic plants of both areas. Rebecca has recently exhibited her botanical illustrations in the florilegium for the Christchurch New Zealand Botanical Gardens, the David Douglas exhibit at the Art Barn in Salem, Oregon, the Mobilia Gallery in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and the American Society of Botanical Artists 11th Annual Exhibition in New York.
Rebecca teaches field sketching, botanical illustration and other related painting techniques.
